There has been some changes to Dalton's Atomic Theory. For one, atoms can in fact be broken down into smaller particles. Atoms of the same element can differ in atomic mass, but they will always have the same charge. And lastly, atoms can't be destroyed in a chemical reaction, but they can be destroyed in a nuclear reaction.
